Cardiff University Choose Optima for SME Project

The Manufacturing Engineering Centre of Excellence based at Cardiff University has chosen £800,000 of Pro/ENGINEER and ProjectLink for a pilot project involving 20 SME's based in Wales.

The aim of the project is to create a virtual network of automotive SME's with the advantage of the virtual enterprise reach, the weight of a large company, and at the same time, maintain their flexibility and responsiveness.

Pro/ENGINEER was chosen due the technical capabilities and breadth of the product and ProjectLink was chosen as it is a true web-based product that is totally CAD independent allowing SME's to control data from multiple CAD systems.
