Using time of flight technology, Optima developed the laser technology to be able to read tyre tread profiles without touching the tyre.

Co funded by the East Midlands Development Agency and internally by Optima, the research produced intellectual property in the form of patents and copyright. In addition to the research and development Optima have also developed the business plan to progress to the technology.
