Radar approached Optima to assist in the design of the world’s first all-plastic stadium seat system for PEL. The brief was to create a highly robust, durable, stylish and above all safe product fit for the exacting demands of 21st century sports-stadia.
Optima used advanced CAD and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools to halve the proposed development schedule from 18 months to just nine, saving both time and cost. This digital testing and computer simulation together with Optima’s wealth of experience in plastic design-for-manufacture, meant that the design team could meet the extensive demands of the project and deliver a cost effective and, crucially, first-to-market product solution.
The Eventa stadium seat system has been installed in a number of locations including Wembley Stadium, Lord’s Cricket Ground and Sheffield Arena. It can also be seen every Saturday morning on the Luther Blissett stand of Soccer AM, Sky TV’s weekly football programme.
