Kickstarter Geocaching with Optima

CACHEABLE KINETIC SHOTS

Geocaching is a worldwide game of hide and seek where participants try and locate containers called “caches” and is played by over 20 million people worldwide. Users locate the items using GPS on their Smartphones or other GPS devices.

The device called cacheABLE Kinetic is a small electronic device that emits a Bluetooth signal and the user locates the device with a dedicated App on their Smartphone. Optima have developed the product in house and written the App that will be used on the product.

Kickstarter is a crowdfunding website that enables individuals or companies to raise funds to develop and launch products. Ian Cowlishaw, Director at Optima said “ We’ve designed 100’s of products over the years and thought it would be great to have one of our own. Over the last 6 months we have developed the cacheABLE Kinetic device and App in-house.”

“Kickstarter is a great opportunity to raise funds to get the device into full production and it will hopefully confirm our belief that there is a market for the product. It brings a modern twist to the game and can be used by individuals or groups such as cubs or schools ”

“We’ve already had some great feedback from the Geocaching community so we’re hoping for a successful project”

We are hoping to raise £75,000 and more information can be found on the Kickstarter website https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1151895366/cacheable-kinetic-geocaching
