SALUS Controls Ltd, a fully-owned subsidiary of Computime-Group Ltd, is a a global manufacturer of automation and control solutions. Previously it relied on Computime’s in-house design team but with a revised strategy and aim of penetrating the European market, SALUS approached Optima. The brief was to give its timing and control product range a fresh and functional look to enable it to compete more readily in the sophisticated European domestic market.
Optima developed advanced styling concepts and engineered common elements across the range to reduce SALUS’ tooling investment and ensure cost effective manufacturability. Following the initial successful product launch, Optima provided styling propositions for the on-going range to ensure synergy of family characteristics and to continue its success in the marketplace. As a testament to the designs effectiveness and the quality of Salus electronic engineering, the family of products went on to become the #1 selling thermostat range in the UK.
