Monitoring and Control Equipment
Controlled Systems Ltd are a Derbyshire based company who specialise in the design and manufacture of monitoring and control equipment for use in underground mining as well as the oil and gas industries. They have extensive experience in the production of Intrinsically Safe (IS) products that are used in underground mines and process plants all over the world.
Optima have undertaken several projects over the last few years producing rugged equipment suitable for the harsh environment where the products are used. Some of the projects that we have undertaken are:
TT420 Tilt Transducer
This stainless steel IP66 rated unit contains encapsulated IS electronic circuitry to allow it to measure XYZ angles on a machine whilst operating in extreme temperatures and vibration.
The simple, yet rugged design is optimised for reduced manufacturing costs and high reliability.
The latest product that we have designed is a Full HD 1080P IS Network Camera that can be used in Hazardous Areas such as Mining and Oil & Gas Industries. Ensuring the device was rugged to maintain its IP66 rating and pass a 7 Joule impact test on the glass window whilst trying to keep down costs was essential.
Ian Cooper, Design Manager said “We approached Optima to help us produce designs that require 3D capability. Our products need to be well designed, robust and above all, functional. The team at Optima are able to turn our concepts into reality and liaise with our manufacturing suppliers to produce the best possible solution. In addition Optima have always been able to respond to our needs extremely quickly and have turned some designs round in hours”
