In a project co-funded by the East Midlands Development Agency in partnership with Optima, the design team employed leading-edge time of flight technology to develop laser technology for non-contact tyre tread profiling and diagnostics – called Treadcatch.
The research, design and prototyping process produced significant intellectual property in the form of patents and copyrights. In addition to concept and engineering design, Optima also developed a business plan and promotional strategy to progress the innovative technology towards a real world device.
